Dr Alessio De Simone received his Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Pisa, Italy and his PhD in Drug Discovery and Development from the Italian Institute of Technology, Italy, with a 10-months visiting period at the University of Oxford, UK. Alessio continued his academic research career as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Edinburgh University, UK and then entered the CRO industry as Senior Scientist at Sygnature Discovery, UK. Alessio gained expertise in the design and preparation of novel chemical entities for medicinal chemistry projects, writing and submissions of articles, grants and patents applications, and in planning preclinical trials for new drugs development. Alessio joined SFI Health, a pharmaceutical company in the area of Natural Medicine and Nutraceuticals, in October 2021 as Global Clinical Affairs Manager located in Bioggio, Switzerland. Alessio is currently involved in managing both clinical and preclinical trials and setting up strategies to assist the commercial launch and expansion of products from the SFI portfolios. Moreover, he is collaborating with the R&D department in development programs and preclinical/clinical substantiation of new products for Cognitive and Microbiome portfolios.
