FAAB assembles a team of 13world-leading molecular scientists at Macquarie University with specific skills in analytical, formulation and processing sciences, and access to a comprehensive suite of cutting-edge characterisation and bioanalytical facilities in proteomics (including the ISO17025 Australian Proteome Analysis Facility, APAF), genomics (including the Australian Genome Foundry), microbiomics, chromatography, microscopy and spectroscopy.
Six internationally renowned experts in the analysis, processing, and modelling of the behaviour of bioactive molecules at Deakin University, University of South Australia, and Western Sydney University complete the Chief Investigator team.
Partner Investigators from 14 BioTech companies provide Australian and International expertise for the training program. All have research- led businesses with identified potential to grow as a result of advanced bioanalytical science, new understanding of modes of action enhancing existing products and generating new ones, as well as through the identification of regulatory pathways.
In total FAAB will train 18 Industry Centre Higher Degree Research students and 8 Early Career Researchers in a world-leading research and technical training programme to prepare job-ready future leaders in a regulated Australian BioTech industry.
